House Tours

As you travel through the house on one of our guided tours, you’ll get sense of what life was like in the 18th Century. Our experienced guides take small groups around on a journey through the house, explaining the story behind our set rooms and pointing out all the hidden details.

The tour starts in the inner hall, which links the large function rooms in the house. These large staterooms are some of the more lavish within the house and where most of the entertaining would take place. This would range from small get together and afternoon tea to large banquets.

Moving up the rich oak stairs, the style and décor of the house takes on a different style. Going from large open halls, you move up to more intimate living quarters and social spaces. Your guided tour will take you through a collection of bedrooms and then down the Tudor wing and then back down the pine stair well and into the unique copper kitchen before you depart.

In many ways life in the 16th Century was much more complicated than today, your tours hope to paint a picture of all aspects of life during this time.

Country Museum

The Breamore Museum is a post war village museum, with staged sets depicting a traditional village. On exhibition is a collection of scenes including a dairy, blacksmiths, school, leather worker, village cottage and more.

The Museum has a particular focus on old farm machinery, where it holds an impressive collection of tractors and steam engines. Our functioning steam workshop and traction engine are some of only a few remaining operational pieces on exhibition in the UK.
